How do I register and create an account on the I-RIIDE platform?
You create a personal online account by registering with accurate information. Registration is limited to individuals aged 18 or older or legal entities.
Who is the contracting party in rental agreements?
The rental contract is exclusively between the lessor (owner) and the tenant (renter). I-RIIDE facilitates the platform but is not a party to the agreement.
What is the cancellation policy for rentals?
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the rental’s start. If cancelled less than 24 hours before, there is no refund.
What penalties apply for late returns or unauthorized use?
Continuing to use the vehicle beyond the rental period incurs extra fees plus a minimum CHF 150 penalty. I-RIIDE may exclude users violating the terms.
When am I entitled to a refund?
You receive a full refund if the lessor causes the unavailability of the rented vehicle. I-RIIDE will also try to find alternatives where possible.
Who is responsible for vehicle damage?
The tenant is liable for any damages caused during the rental. I-RIIDE is not responsible for vehicles or damages.
What should I do in case of an accident?
Report the damage through the claims form on the I-RIIDE platform. I-RIIDE will mediate but is not liable for the incident.
Does I-RIIDE provide insurance coverage?
I-RIIDE advises users about insurance options but does not provide insurance. Users should verify their own insurance coverage.
What happens if someone else drives the vehicle without permission?
Unauthorized drivers are considered third parties and are responsible for any violations or damages.
How do I protect my I-RIIDE account?
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and accountable for activities on your account.
What happens if the vehicle breaks down?
If the breakdown is unrelated to tenant misuse, the rental may be interrupted, and a refund provided. The lessor is responsible in such cases.
Can I extend the rental beyond the agreed period?
Extended use without agreement triggers penalties and additional fees.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes, subject to the above cancellation policy and deadlines.
How are rental fees and commissions handled?
Tenants pay rental fees through I-RIIDE. Lessors receive fees minus a 19% commission to I-RIIDE.
What if I get a fine during the rental?
You are responsible for any fines or penalties incurred while using the rented vehicle. If a fine is sent to the renting company or the vehicle owner, they have the right to forward the fine to the user responsible for the violation.
