As a user of the i-riide service, you must ensure that the goods you are transporting are goods whose transportation is permitted by law. i-riide declines all responsibility concerning the use of its service for the transport of such objects.

 

The section sets out which of the goods whose transport is regulated or prohibited:

  • Narcotics and psychotropic substances
  • Valuables such as jewelry, precious metals, banknotes, bearer bonds, gold or silver, and other valuables.
  • Cultural properties of major interest for the national heritage.
  • Objects whose sensitive nature are subject to special formalities: weapons, medicines, asbestos, and strategic goods that can be used for civil or military purposes.
  • Objects whose nature or packaging may present a danger to others.
  • Radioactive or corrosive materials, hazardous waste, and dangerous materials such as compressed gas or any object containing gas or compressed or liquid air (aerosol products, lifeboats, fire extinguishers, etc.)
  • Lithium cells and batteries
  • Perishable, infectious or non-infectious biological materials.
  • Live or dead animals.
  • Human organs and remains.
  • Obscene or immoral objects.

 

Moreover, due to their fragility, the transport of certain objects is not recommended. For example, glasses, drinks, and any other liquids (oils, soap, etc.). We strongly advise you to take extra care when packing fragile objects.

Absolutely! The application works by uploading a picture of the package to be picked up along with an invoice, receipt, or order confirmation, which the courier will present to the store when your package is picked up. 

No, couriers do not load parcels into your apartment. The parcel will be delivered to you and the delivery will be made outside your apartment.

  • After posting your mission announcement, you will receive a notification of transport acceptance a few hours later.
  • If the delivery of your package is urgent, please choose “Flash” in your shipping request.
  • We know that reliability is essential, and we are uncompromising on this point.
  • For this reason, we have set up a system of evaluation and advice for each courier. After each delivery, the couriers are graded to ensure their quality. This is how the community builds trust while assuring high quality.
  • We went further to check the quality of the couriers. Each courier must submit: an ID, its driver’s license, their bank details to recover his funds. The courier must also provide us with his e-mail address and telephone number.
  • i-riide is a collaborative platform that connects individuals to provide a parcel carpooling service. We do not intervene in the transactions which take place directly between the sender and the courier.
  • Creating a community of trust is essential for us. Thus, we control the identity of members by checking emails and mobile phone numbers. As mentioned, couriers are also required to provide their ID cards and bank details to retrieve funds.
  • To guarantee maximum security, i-riide offers free insurance throughout Switzerland to insure your belongings. 
  • Once the package has been delivered to the recipient, you should confirm the delivery via your account:

    1. Go to your ad and click on “Confirm”.
    2. Contact the recipient to ensure that the package is received.

     

All transports are insured up to 2’000 CHF. 

Payments are made online via i-riide in a secure way. We chose a safe, reliable and flexible platform called Datatran, as a partner offers a secure and unique payment solution for collaborative consumption platforms and marketplaces.

Once the ad has been placed and a courier has been found to deliver your goods, you will have to pay the amount due for transportation. But don’t worry, your money is only paid to the courier once the package has arrived at its destination and is confirmed by you.

 

 

Although this virtual wallet system does not send money through i-riide it has two advantages:

  1. The sender only pays if the advertisement is delivered.
  2. The courier is sure to be paid only after the delivery has been completed.
Transport a package

According to the law, you are solely responsible for the objects in your possession, whether they belong to you or a third party. As a result, when the sender hands over the goods to be shipped to you, as a courier, you have the right to ask for verification of the contents, which will be shipped, in the sender’s presence to ensure that the goods entrusted to you are not illegal goods or goods whose transportation is prohibited. Thus, we strongly encourage you to take this step and refuse shipment if you have the slightest doubt.

As well as certifying the condition of the goods before delivery, checking the contents of the package allows you to dispute any damage later that may be unjustly blamed on you. Don’t hesitate to take a picture of the package before taking the road, it can be used as proof. Therefore, again, we also invite you to read the list of goods whose transport is regulated or prohibited. 

You have signed up to deliver one or more packages on i-riide but you can’t make the trip anymore?

It sometimes happens that everything does not go as planned (unexpected, capricious weather or misunderstandings) and we understand this. Nevertheless, we invite you to first try to find an alternative solution with the sender, for example by agreeing on a postponement of delivery. If not, the alternatives below are possible:

 

  1. Contact the affected shippers to notify them of the cancellation.
  2. Make sure that you have canceled any ongoing assignments.
  3. In case of any difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact us at Support@i-riide.com. Note well, we would appreciate it if you would avoid cancellations as much as possible. Indeed, you have committed yourself and the sender is counting on you.

 

Certainly! You can accept as many assignments as you wish if you respect the delivery instructions, including schedules and dates.

We do not authorize payment by hand at the time of delivery: payments are made exclusively online in a secure manner and before the trip. At the end of the trip, as soon as the delivery is confirmed, you will be paid by i-riide in the form of a bank transfer. 

Security

We advise you to pack your belongings as safely as possible and strongly recommend that you take extra care when packing fragile items.

For the conducive to guarantee reliability on i-riide, our members are obligated to complete their profile:

  • By having their identity verified,
  • By adding a profile picture,
  • By having their e-mail and mobile number checked.

In addition, we have implemented a notice-based evaluation system that allows members to evaluate one another after each delivery. Finally, if you have the slightest doubt or need to be 100% reassured, we suggest that you ask your contact person, when you hand over the shipment package before the journey, to show you his or her identity card and/or proof of address (EDF bill, etc.) and to present the same elements in return. This ensures the reliability of your contact person. 

At i-riide, community matters, and we advocate firmly our values of collaboration and trust.

If you have witnessed any abnormal or improper behavior, we invite you to let us know as soon as possible so that we can contact the member in question.

Similarly, if a discussion seems abnormal to you, or if your interlocutor wishes to pass outside the platform, do not hesitate to inform us. 

We ask the shipper to perform the expense through the i-riide application before shipment rather than upon delivery, as we consider payment on-site as a security measure.

By paying on the site, the parcel sent automatically benefits from the insurance subscribed, which is a guarantee of confidence and serenity for everyone. Be aware that if you agree with the sender that the payment should be made from hand to hand on delivery and that an accident or theft occurs, the good will not be covered by insurance.

 

Paying before delivery allows i-riide to play its role as a “trusted third party” for payment. We keep the amount of the contribution to the shipping costs on a box account, and it will be paid to you once the package has been duly handed over to the recipient and validated by the sender. This also ensures that you will be paid the amount agreed upon with the sender without having to discuss it with a recipient who may have been misinformed!

Cancellation

The courier may cancel the shipment or no longer respond to you. This is relatively rare, but if this situation occurs, we offer 2 options:

 

  1. In case of cancellation by the courier, your advertisement is put back online
  2. If the courier has not canceled or neither responded, please contact us at: support@i-riide.com

 

Refund Policy

Do you need to cancel an assignment announcement? From your account, you can cancel the ad if it has not been accepted by a courier. The amount of the refund depends on the reasons for the cancellation if the assignment has been accepted.

If the cancellation is at the sender’s initiative, the sender will be reimbursed in full, except for the connection costs, if the assignment has been accepted beforehand by a courier.

The i-riide is a delivery platform that is designed for both businesses and individuals.

Examples of companies: Medical offices for an emergency shipment of small materials, law firms for express shipment of documents, stores for delivery to private individuals, architectural offices for shipment of plans, etc.

 

Examples of individuals: Online purchase and withdrawal in store, purchase on second-hand sites and withdrawal of the property from a private individual, forgetting keys and recovery of keys in the forgotten place, etc.
