1. General
i-riide (whose registered office is located at Weststrasse 94, 4900 Langenthal) (Switzerland), in its capacity as data controller, attaches great importance to the protection and respect of your privacy.
The purpose of this policy is to inform you of our practices regarding the collection, use, and sharing of information that you may provide to us using our platform accessible at www.i-riide.com or on our mobile application.
This Policy, together with our Terms of Use and any documents referenced there with our Cookie Policy, sets out how we treat the personal information we collect and that you provide us with. We invite you to read this document carefully so that you know and understand our practices regarding the processing of your personal information that we implement.
2. The information we collect
We may collect and process the following data:
2.1. The information you send us directly. By using our platform, you will be prompted to send us information, some of which is of a nature to identify your “Personal Information”. This is especially the case when:
2.1.1. The information necessary to register for the service we provide on our platform or to access any other service we provide. This includes mandatory information: name and last name, e-mail address, date of birth, gender, telephone number and password. Otherwise, i-riide will not be able to provide you with the services offered and you will not be authorized to create an account on our platform.
2.1.2. A photograph.

2.1.4. Information relating to your vehicle.
2.1.5. Your phone number.
2.1.6. A copy of all exchanges between i-riide and you.
2.1.7 A copy of all assignments or announcements of assignments carried out on our platform.
2.1.8. The details of financial or accounting operations carried out on i-riide or by any other means, including information relating to your payment card, your bank details, and information relating to deliveries made or for which you have published an advertisement on our platform.
2.1.9. Details of when you visited our platform and what content you accessed and did not access.
2.1.10. If applicable, your answers to our surveys and questionnaires and the opinions you have left, this information is particularly likely to be used in the context of research and analysis of customer behavior.
2.1.11. The information we may ask you to provide when you report a problem with our platform or services, such as the subject of your support request.
2.1.12. If you have granted us authorization to the collection and processing of your location, name, address, telephone, number and e-mail address.
2.1.13. A copy of your passport, driver’s license, identity card, or any other similar document that you have provided us.
2.1.14. Information about your insurance subscriptions and waivers, if any, a copy of any declarations made, and forms completed for subscriptions, policy administration, or claims reporting.

2.2. The data we collect automatically. 2.2.1. If you connect to our services, i-riide will have access to the following information (your first and last name, photograph and e-mail address) of your account.
2.2.2. With your consent and following the applicable legislation, during each of your visits we may collect, where applicable, information related to the devices or networks in which you access our services such as: IP addresses, connection data, types and versions of web browsers used, types and versions of your browser plug-ins, operating systems and platforms. We also may collect data about your browsing experience on i-riide, including your path through the various URLs on our platform, the content accessed or viewed, keywords, download errors, the length of time spent on certain pages, the advertising ID of your device, interactions with the page, and any phone number used to contact us. One of the technologies used to collect this information is the use of cookies (please refer to our Cookie Policy for more information on cookies).
2.2.3. We also collect the following information about how you use our platform (such as the number of ads published, your response rate to ads, your registration date, etc.).
2.2.4. Finally, we collect technical information related to the model of your vehicle when you submit your license plate number to facilitate the completion of the form describing your vehicle. This information is collected by querying (the database produced by the auto-index company).
2.3. How long will your information be kept?
2.3.1. Your personal information is archived at the end of the following periods: – 5 years after your last use of our platform, if you have not closed your account. – 1 year after the closure of your account, unless you have received a negative notice or a report, in which case your data will be kept for 2 years following the last negative notice or report received, whichever is longer. 2.3.2. The following categories of personal information are likely to be kept for different periods:
– Financial data (e.g., payments, reimbursements, etc.) are kept for the duration required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
– The data collected when subscribing to insurance products are kept for the duration of the insurance contract and for the time necessary to manage your claims, if necessary. –
Content generated by users such as comments, opinions, and ratings) made anonymously after the time frames mentioned in 2.3.1 will remain visible on our platform.
2.3.3. If your account has been suspended or blocked, we keep your data for a period of between 2 to 10 years from the date of suspension to avoid any circumvention by you of the rules in force on our platform.
3. How do we use the information we collect?
We use the data we collect to: 3.1 To fulfil contracts concluded between you and i-riide or between i-riide and our business partners (e.g., insurance). Also, to provide you with the information and services requested, this processing is necessary for the performance of our respective contractual obligations.
3.2 To send you information about our services (such as booking confirmations) by e-mail, SMS or any other means of communication; this processing is necessary for the performance of our respective contractual obligations and/or is carried out with your consent.
3.3 To collect your payments or to transfer the sums collected on your behalf; this processing is necessary for the performance of our respective contractual obligations. 3.4 Allow you to personalize your profile on our platforms. This process is carried out based on your consent.
3.5 To enable you to communicate and interact with other members of our community who are authorized to publish on i-riide, in particular regarding our services or the trip(s) you made or plan to make; such processing is necessary to fulfill our respective contractual obligations and/or carried out with your consent
3.6 Provide you with access and communication with our member relationship services; this processing is necessary for the performance of our respective contractual obligations. For this action, your consent is carried out; i-riide mandates it as necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
3.7 Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, our terms and conditions of use, and our privacy policy. In the event of any breach by you, we may be led to suspend your account on our platforms; This processing is necessary for the performance of our respective contractual obligations, carried out with your consent and/or necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of a right in court.
3.8 In accordance with applicable law and with your consent where required, to deliver marketing, promotional, advertising messages and content related to the use of our services, booking Terms and Conditions and to suggest goods or services that may be of your interest. Your information may be used as well for advertising reasons (promotional messages on social networking platforms or third-party websites) that might be of your interest. If you would like more information on this subject, we invite you to read the contractual documents of these platforms; this processing is based on your consent and/or our legitimate interest (to provide you with relevant content).
3.9 To notify you of changes to our services; this processing is necessary for the performance of our respective contractual obligations, the fulfillment of our legal obligations and/or the establishment, exercise, or defense of a legal claim.
3.10 Verify the information in your passport, driver’s license, identity card or, any, other identity document that we may have collected during your registration or use of i-riide. This processing is based on your consent, necessary to comply with our legal obligations and/or to establish, exercise or defend a right in court.
3.11 Manage our platform and perform internal technical operations in the context of problem-solving, data analysis, testing, research, analysis, studies, and surveys; this processing is based on our legitimate interest (ensuring the security of i-riide and improving its features).
3.12 To improve and optimize i-riide, to ensure that the display of our content is suitable for your device; this processing is based on our legitimate interest. Our aim is to provide you with relevant content.
3.13 Allow you to use the interactive features of our services if you wish to do so; this processing is necessary for the performance of our respective contractual obligations and/or carried out with your consent.
3.14 Help us maintain a healthy and safe environment on i-riide; this process is based on our legitimate interest to ensure the security of our community. It is necessary to comply with our legal obligations and/or is necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
3.15 Evaluate the effectiveness of the promotional messages we send and tailor them to our members. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in measuring and optimizing the effectiveness of our campaigns and it is on your consent.
4. Who are the recipients of the information we collect and why do we send them this information?
4.1. As part of using our services, some of your information will be shared through your profile with other members of our community who are authorized to post assignments on i-riide.
4.2. We may also share information about you, including personal information, with other companies in the i-riide AG group in accordance with this policy.
4.3. We also work closely with third-party companies that may have access to your personal information, including:
– Social networking platforms that may offer features that allow you to integrate information from your account into your i-riide profile on their own platform.
– Our business partners who advertise their services on our platforms and to whom you may choose to subscribe. These services may include insurance services, banking services, car rental services, etc.
– Our insurance partners or intermediaries will confirm your eligibility for insurance programs, quote you a price, allow you to subscribe to the proposed insurance contracts and manage your claims, if any, and comply with their legal and regulatory obligations. – Our business partners on whose website we may advertise our services.
– The sub-contractors that we may use to provide technical services, payment services, identity verification services or analytical solutions.
4.4. We do not share your information with the third parties mentioned above in
4.3., only in the following cases:
4.4.1. When we use a service provider in connection with the performance of any contract between you and i-riide, or to provide, or improve our services (for example in connection with payments made through our platform)
4.4.2. As part of the booking process, to provide the requested services, we may display on our platform or transmit to another member some of your personal information such as your name, last name, photograph, mobile phone, number or e-mail address.
4.4.3. We publish the notices you write as part of our notice system on our platform. These notices are visible to all visitors to our platform, they include your first name, first letter of your surname and your photograph.
4.4.4. When we use search engines and analytics vendors to improve and optimize.
4.4.5. When you specifically request it (for example when you use the authentication methods provided by social networks). Also, when you subscribe to a service provided by one of our partners or when you ask to benefit from an offer provided by one of our partners.
4.4.6. When we distribute, on the websites of our business partners, some aspects of our platform (including assignments posted by you) via APIs or widgets. In this case, the information from your public profile may also be displayed on these sites.
4.4.7. When we are legally obligated to do so or when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to do so to respond to any claim against i-riide. Additionally, to comply with any legal request, to enforce any contract we have with our members, such as the General Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy, in the event of an emergency involving public health or the physical integrity of any person, in connection with investigations and inquiries, or to protect the rights, property and safety of i-riide, its members and more generally any third party.
4.4.8. If we sell or acquire a business or assets, we reserve the right to share your personal information with the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
4.4.9. If i-riide or all or part of its assets are acquired by a third party, the information in our possession may be transferred to the new owner.
4.4.10. Subject to applicable law, and with your consent where required, we may aggregate information about you that we receive or send to our business partners, including all or a portion of your personal information and information collected through cookies. This aggregated information will only be used for the purposes described above.
4.4.11. Please note that if you choose to give us access to some of your information, particularly your personal information, through connection services provided by our business partners, their privacy policies will also be enforceable against you. We have no control over the collection or processing of your information by our business partners on their platforms.
5. How do we use and moderate your messages?
5.1. We may read the messages that you exchange with other members of our community through our platform to prevent fraud, improve our services, provide user support, and verify that our members are complying with our agreements and our Terms of Use. For example, to prevent a member from circumventing our online reservation system, we allow ourselves to read and analyze the messages exchanged on our platform to ensure that they do not include any contact information or references to other websites.
5.2. We never review your communications with other members of our community for promotional purposes or targeted advertising. Whenever possible, we use automated systems to moderate the messages transmitted between members on our platform, without any individual decision being made.
6. Targeted advertising, e-mail, and SMS that we send you
Subject to applicable law and with your consent where required, we may use the information you provide on our platform for marketing purposes, to send you newsletters, invitations to our events and any other content that might be of your interest. We may also use the mentioned information to display targeted advertisements on social media platforms or third-party websites).
Regarding promotional emails: you may withdraw your consent at any time by unchecking the appropriate box in your account and clicking on the unsubscribe link provided in each of our communications. As far as targeted advertising is concerned:
– On social networking platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) you can oppose this treatment at any time by configuring the settings for advertising your account.
– On Third-Party Sites: You may refer to our Cookie Policy to understand how to withdraw your consent.
7. Is your data transferred, how and where?
We generally store your personal information within the European Union. However, because some of our service providers are in countries outside the European Union (“Third Countries”), we may transfer some of your personal data to Third Countries. This may be the case for the Third Countries that the European Commission has not designated as providing decided “adequate protection”. In such a case, we will ensure that this transfer is carried out in compliance with applicable regulations and guarantees an adequate level of protection of the privacy and fundamental rights of individuals (through the European Commission´s standard contractual clauses).

8.3. You also have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your situation, to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes or to the processing carried out based on your legitimate interest (“Right to Object”).
8.4. You have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data (“Right to Restrict”). Please note that this right only applies if you dispute the accuracy of your personal information for the period of time necessary, for us to verify the accuracy of your personal data; in the event of unlawful processing by us, and you request a limitation of its use rather than its deletion, we no longer need the personal data for the processing but it is still necessary for you to establish, exercise or defend your rights; in the event of exercising your right to object during the period of verifying whether the legitimate reasons pursued by us outweigh your legitimate reasons.
8.5. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority or to obtain compensation from the competent courts if you consider that we have not respected your rights.
8.6. You also have the right to the portability of your data, the right to receive the Personal Data you have provided in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and the right to transmit such data to another data controller (“Right to Portability”).
